Everybody is responsible for their own visa arrangements. For many countries South Africa is visa free for short stay visitors, please see:
http://www.dha.gov.za/index.php/immigration-services/exempt-countries for the list of visa-free countries.
Travellers from Asia, Europe and North America do not require vaccine certificates. The Western Cape is not a malaria area.

Only the African and South American continent includes designated Yellow Fever risk countries. Countries for which a yellow fever vaccination certificate is required for entry into South Africa are Angola, Argentina, Benin, Bolivia, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Colombia, Guinea-Bissau, Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ecuador, Equatorial Guinea, Ethiopia, French Guyana, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guyana, Kenya, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Rwanda, Sao Tome and Principe, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sudan, Suriname, Togo, Trinidad and Tobago, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, Venezuela, and Zambia.
The only reasonable airport for arrival is Cape Town International (see Cape Town airport), which is 105 km from Hermanus. The road trip to Hermanus takes at least 1.5 hours (there are no trains), depending on the traffic in Somerset West and conditions on Sir Lowrey's Pass and Houwhoek Pass. We will meet all guests arriving at Cape Town airport on Sunday 13 September (EISCAT SOC members on Thursday 10 September, Radar school participants on Friday 11 September), both international and domestic arrival halls. We can not provide a meeting service for any other arrival method or days.
Free Airport Shuttle
The conference will provide a free airport shuttle service for arrivals on Sunday 13 September (EISCAT SOC members on Thursday 10 September, Radar school participants on Friday 11 September) and departures on Saturday 19 September. Participants arriving earlier for vacation purposes can make use of the shuttle service by coming to the airport on Sunday 13 September. Participants staying on after the conference for vacation purposes can make use of the shuttle service to the airport on Saturday 19 September.
For arrivals, the shuttles will be timed to coincide with maximum demand. Hence, guests may have to wait at the airport for a couple of hours.
For departures, we will depart Hermanus promptly NO LESS than 4 hours prior to the first departure flight for a group of guests.
Guests may also use rental cars (see Cape Town airport) or commercial shuttle services at their own risk.
